It is our desire to love God above all things and to love our neighbors! In keeping God first, we draw closer to Him through acts of worship including Saturday and Sunday worship services, prayer, small groups, which by their nature are small worship meetings and through caring for those that God puts in our paths daily, both in church and our everyday life!
The power of a relationship with Jesus Christ is life changing! The ongoing pursuit of God through a living relationship with Jesus is what we are seeking everyday! Teaching believers what it means and how to follow God more closely is our desire. (Matthew 28: 19-20)
We strive to accept everyone where they are, to love and care for people, to help share the amazing grace of Jesus with everyone!
We Believe in God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit—that they are distinct personalities with distinct roles (Matthew 3:13-17) but one God (Ephesians 4:6, 1 Timothy 2:5, 1 Corinthians 8:6) and that this one God is the Creator of the universe (Colossians 1:16, John 1:1-3).
We Believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Savior, the Son of God (John 1:41, John 4:25-26, Luke 19:10, John 4:42, Matthew 14:33) who was born of a virgin (Luke 1:34), lived a sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21), died on a cross (Colossians 1:20), was raised from the grave (Luke 24:6 & 34, Colossians 1:18), and that He will return as our victorious Lord (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
We Believe Jesus is the only way to God—that our salvation comes only through Jesus Christ (John 14:6) and cannot be earned—it is a gift of God (Ephesians 2:8-9).
We Believe the steps of salvation are: to hear the good news about Jesus (John 5:24, Matthew 13); to believe in Him (John 3:16, Mark 16:16); to repent of our sins (Luke 5:32, Acts 2:38).; to confess our faith in Christ in the hearing of others (Romans 10:9-10, 1 Timothy 6:12); to be baptized by immersion (Matthew 3:16, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16).
We Believe everyone who accepts Christ has the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit who acts as a Comforter, Guide, and Advocate (Acts 2:38).
We Believe the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God in its entirety and that it does not contradict itself, nor does it need to be added to or subtracted from. It is our guide (Hebrews 4:12).
We Believe the Church is the body of Christ and the extension of Jesus Christ’s character, attitude, behavior, and mission in our world today (1 Corinthians 12:27).
We Believe God gives gifts to both men and women through the Holy Spirit for the benefit of the church’s ministry (1 Peter 4:10, Ephesians 2:10).
We Believe humility in prayer is foundational for all we do (James 5:16) and that celebrating communion together weekly is beneficial for all Christians (Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 11:25-26).
All are welcome here. But, we extend a special welcome to those who are single, married, divorced, gay, lesbian, transgender, filthy rich, dirt poor, yo no habla Ingles. We extend a special welcome to those who are crying new-borns, skinny as a rail or could afford to lose a few pounds.
We welcome you if you can sing like Andrea Bocelli or like our pastor who can’t carry a note in a bucket. You’re welcome here if you’re “just browsing,” just woke up or just got out of jail. We don’t care if you’re more Catholic than the Pope, or haven’t been in church since little Joey’s Baptism.
We extend a special welcome to those who are over 60 but not grown up yet, and to teenagers who are growing up too fast. We welcome soccer moms, NASCAR dads, starving artists, tree-huggers, latte-sippers, vegetarians, junk-food eaters. We welcome those who are in recovery or still addicted. We welcome you if you’re having problems or you’re down in the dumps or if you don’t like “organized religion,” we’ve been there too. You’re welcome if you are a UC, Kentucky, IU, Xavier or Notre Dame fan, a Bengals, Steelers, Browns, Raiders or any other football team fan, a Red’s, Indian’s, St. Louis, Boston or Yankees baseball fan, in fact, if you’re not a fan you’re welcome here.
We endorse all people but we make it a point not to promote any particular politician. If you need a church that does or a minister who screams and yells from the pulpit about how everybody who doesn’t believe as he believes (or, she believes) is going to hell... well, you’re probably not going to like this church. Here, you can be Democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian… heck, even a Socialist. You’ll understand, we’re sort of struck with Jesus and, especially, His teachings. The way we figure it — if we follow His teachings, the world will be a happier and healthier place for everybody. Healthier and happier, too, for those not interested in faith, not even ours.
If you blew all your offering money last night at the casino, tough luck for us. You’re still welcome here. We offer a special welcome to those who think the earth is flat, work too hard, don’t work, can’t spell, or because grandma is in town and wanted to go to church.
We welcome those who are inked, pierced or both. We offer a special welcome to those who could use a prayer right now, had religion shoved down your throat as a kid or got lost in traffic and wound up here by mistake. We welcome tourists, seekers and doubters, bleeding hearts ... In short, we welcome you! If we’ve missed anyone, please know that ALL people are welcome here!
